Title:    Walgreens COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic – Saturday, March 13, 2021

Text:    The City of Sanger is proud to announce a partnership with Walgreens to host a vaccination clinic that targets underserved 65+/Farmworker/Foodservice worker populations in Sanger and the surrounding communities.

While these populations are currently eligible for the vaccine, it is acknowledged that certain populations in these groups are having difficulty in registering for or accessing the vaccine, resulting in lower number of vaccinations in rural or diverse communities.  Factors such as income, language barriers or limited access to the internet is leading to lower vaccination rates in these populations.

This Walgreens Vaccination clinic hopes to increase those rates by targeting these specific populations with on-site registration and vaccination.  Additionally, the event will utilize the Johnson & Johnson vaccine that, with its one-shot administration process, will provide for quicker efficacy for this population.

The event opens at 10:00 AM and a minimum of 400 shots will be available.  The event will end when all the shots have been administered or by 4:00 PM, whichever is earlier.  It will be held at the Sanger Community Center Gym, 730 Recreation Avenue, Sanger, CA 93657.

Please contact the City at the number above with any media questions.  For FAQs on the Walgreen vaccination process, visit walgreens.com/covidvaccine.
