Recreation Commission

The Recreation Commission voluntarily plans, organizes and facilitates community events, music, sports, games, plays, celebrations, and similar activities, including:

• Annual Blossom Trail City Springfest Celebration in Panzak Park.
• Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
• Fowler’s Fabulous 4th of July Celebration

• The Recreation Commission consists of seven members appointed by the mayor, serving a two-year term commencing July 1^st.
• Four Commissioners are appointed in even numbered years.
• Three Commissioners are appointed in odd numbered years.
• Chair elected by Commissioners every January – Chair appoints Vice-Chair and Secretary to serve one-year terms.
• Must reside within the incorporated limits of the City of Fowler, within the City’s approved sphere of influence, or within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Fowler Unified School District.
• Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month, 6:00 P.M. – City Council Chamber. (FMC Title 2; Chapter 2; Article 2)

Applications to serve on the Recreation Commission are available in the City Clerk’s office, City of Fowler, 128 S. 5th Street, Fowler, CA 93625, Phone: (559) 834-3113 or on the City’s website at www.fowlercity.org. (Download here). Please return your completed application to the City Clerk’s office.

Applications will be considered by the City Council when the current officeholders’ terms expire, or in the event of an unscheduled vacancy.
