Recreation Commission
The Recreation Commission voluntarily plans, organizes and facilitates community events, music, sports, games, plays, celebrations, and similar activities, including:
- Annual Blossom Trail City Springfest Celebration in Panzak Park.
- Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
- Fowler’s Fabulous 4th of July Celebration
- The Recreation Commission consists of seven members appointed by the mayor, serving a two-year term commencing July 1st.
- Four Commissioners are appointed in even numbered years.
- Three Commissioners are appointed in odd numbered years.
- Chair elected by Commissioners every January – Chair appoints Vice-Chair and Secretary to serve one-year terms.
- Must reside within the incorporated limits of the City of Fowler, within the City’s approved sphere of influence, or within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Fowler Unified School District.
- Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month, 6:00 P.M. – City Council Chamber. (FMC Title 2; Chapter 2; Article 2)
